HC Knole Park are in the National League!

Updated: Dec 26, 2021

HC Knole Park’s success in the South-East of England competitions continued once again this weekend as their Women’s 1st team competed in the National League qualifier competition at Canterbury HC. HC Knole Park won all three matches and have now qualified for the National League Division Two South: an incredible achievement for HC Knole Park! Goals from Anna (9), Amelie (5), Elloise (4), Annabel (3), Olivia, Sasha, and Jessica (2 each).

In match one the team beat Epsom HC 6-0 with goals from Sasha (2), Amelie, Anna, Annabel and Elloise. In match two the girls were in imperious form as they won 9-0 against the highest ranked side in the competition, Bromley & Beckenham HC. Five goals from penalty corner specialist Anna, and singles from Amelie, Elloise, Jessica and Olivia capped a fine performance. In the final match against Woking HC a draw or win would see the girls through. Despite the Woking goalkeeper being in superb form, the girls were at their clinical best to score 12 goals and seal the title, and with it, qualification to the National League! The goals came from Anna & Amelie 3 each, Annabel & Elloise 2 each, and Jessica & Olivia one each, including several very special team goals! Alice R & Betrys were once again absolutely superb in defence throughout too.

HC Knole Park will play in the National League Division Two (South) over the weekend of the 8th & 9th January.

Elsewhere, HC Knole Park entered two sides into the Surbiton U13 Championships. The Boys played in the Plate competition where they had a fantastic run of matches to reach the final. Sadly, it wasn’t quite to be as they lost to a good Ashford, Middlesex side, but were delighted with their silver medals. Goals from Ignacio (4), two each for Ted, Ed, and Luke and a single effort for Sebastiaan van Tiggelen. The Girls were also unbeaten in the group phase of their Cup competition, however lost out to eventual winners Old Georgians in the semi-finals and finished fourth overall. Daisy and Mali both scored twice, with Emily B, Bea, and Annabel scoring once.

HC Knole Park now take a break from all hockey for a week or two over the festive period. The indoor sides will be competing in the Copper Box Championships:

Girls: U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 & Women's

Boys: U12 & U14

Still active in every competition, in every age group, everyone is looking forward a fantastic 2022.
