Knole Park juniors called up to England training!

Updated: Sep 23, 2021

Five juniors from HC Knole Park have had called up to England age group trainings for the start of the 2021/22 season! The girls have all been selected from the England Hockey Futures Cup or from having impressed last season whilst on England age group duty.

Anna, Josefina and Olivia have all been called up to the England U16 squad, whilst Lottie and Pascale have been called up to the England U18 squad.

Anna, Olivia and Lottie all played for England over the summer in the U16s and clearly impressed the coaches with their hockey to get call ups for this season’s training group. All three girls scored for the U16s over the summer in matches against Wales and Scotland.

Whilst Josefina and Pascale attended the England Hockey Futures Cup in August. Here the England coaches must have been impressed with Josefina as they voted for her as the Player of the Tournament! Meanwhile Pascale, who plays in goal, only let in one goal in her three matches, making a string of saves for her team, and showing her quality between the sticks.

The girls will all attend a training camp in September, before attending a residential camp during October half-term. In November the final squads will be confirmed for 2021/22.

Duncan Parnis, HC Knole Park’s Director of Coaching said: “We are all really proud of all the girls. You can see how much they enjoy playing in how they play the game! They all work exceptionally hard in training every week throughout the year and often have to make tough choices to fit everything in with their hockey. You can see how much they motivate and push each other in training too – it’s hugely positive! Everyone at KP wishes them the very best at their training camps and we look forward to seeing what the season holds for them!”
