HCKP’s Women’s 1st Team
HC Knole Park’s Women’s 1st Team were back in action on Saturday as the team travelled down to Herne Bay. England stars Lottie and Anna were on top form as they scored seven and four goals respectively in the 18-0 win. Evie S scored two goals on her 1st team debut, and Boadicea, Amelie, Sasha, Phoebe & Charlotte S all scored one. This win moves Knole Park up to third in the table.
Lottie opened the scoring with an excellent backhand strike, before Phoebe finished off a wonderful sweeping move involving Charlotte S, Anna, Lottie, and Boadicea. Evie S was quick to score on her debut from short range after Amelie shot was saved. Two Lottie penalty drag-flicks made it 5-0, before Charlotte S scored her first 1st team goal after a counter attack involving Lottie and Amelie. Lottie was once again the provider as her backhand was deflected home by Evie S for her second goal of the match. Anna scored after an excellent run by Elloise to make it 8-0, before Lottie scored twice more before half-time to make it 10-0. Two assists from Amelie for both too!
The second half was like the first, although it was Anna who opened the scoring from a penalty corner, before scoring again moments later from another Elloise run and pass. Sasha tapped in to make it 13, before Amelie got herself on the scoresheet with a cracking penalty corner strike. Lottie scored her double hat-trick goal from an excellent pass from Phoebe, before then finishing off an excellent link up between Anna & Elloise again. The final two goals were scored by Anna & Boadicea, Anna with the assist for Boadicea!
Herne Bay played in an excellent spirit throughout which we really appreciated in these unusual circumstances. Next week the team face Surbiton in the EH Cup before the league restarts the following week against Bromley & Beckenham who sit one spot above them in the league.
HCKP’s Men’s 1st Team
HC Knole Park’s Men’s 1st Team suffered their second defeat in as many weeks as they faced a very good University of Kent 1st team. Duncan opened the scoring with a penalty corner before the university side levelled just before half-time. Knole Park came out flying in the second half as Benedict and Isaac both scored fantastic goals to give KP a 3-1 lead. However, this seemed to spur the University of Kent on, and they scored five unanswered goals to take the lead. Duncan did manage to score one more penalty corner to make the final few moments more interesting however it finished 6-4 to the University of Kent. The Men’s team now drop to mid-table. Next week they face Purley HC in the EH Cup. Purley sit top of the Oaks Division 5 League and are absolutely flying this season. The league restarts the following week with an away trip to Marden Russets.
HCKP’s U16A Girls
HC Knole Park’s U16A Girls won 9-1 against Brighton & Hove on Sunday in the South-East Premier League. Six goals from England U16 star Olivia, as well as two from Lottie and one from Anna meant that Knole Park move top of the league after three matches.
The match started well as Olivia scored within 5 minutes form great play by Charlotte & Josefina. Anna scored from a penalty corner and Olivia a tap in from a Lottie run to make it 3-0 at half-time.
After half time the girls grew into the match. It was Olivia who scored the first three of the second half within 10 minutes. The first was after some great play from Summer & Lottie, and the second from Summer. On the counter Brighton scored a goal after a cheap defensive turnover to make it 5-1. The girls bounced immediately as Lottie ran through the Brighton defence laying the ball on to Olivia to score her fifth. Two Lottie backhands made it 8-1, before Olivia completed her double hat-trick after good play from Lottie and Jessica.
In the South-East League the girls face East Grinstead on the 7th November.
HCKP’s U16B Girls
HC Knole Park’s U16B Girls were also in action against Marden Russets HC. In a superb first half the girls stormed into a 3-0 lead with Celia scoring twice and Biba adding a third. The second half was a stalemate, so the match finished 3-0 to Knole Park. A great performance from all the girls.
In the South-East T2 League the girls face Ashford & Horsham next.
HCKP’s U14A Boys
HC Knole Park’s U14A Boys played their first South-East Premier League matches on Sunday. In the first match they played Brighton & Hove. In a superb performance Isaac scored a great hat-trick and Mack also netted in the 4-1 victory. In match two the team played Canterbury in part two of this season’s trilogy! Canterbury were superb from start to finish in a resounding 9-3 defeat of Knole Park. Goals from Isaac, Mack and Benedict were not enough this time round. Round three is in November!
In the South-East T1 League the boy’s face East Grinstead next.
The U14B Girls match versus Sevenoaks HC was conceded, as was the U18 Girls match against Guildford.
