Five-star weekend for HC Knole Park!

Updated: Nov 24, 2021

All five of Knole Park’s junior teams progressed through to the National Quarter Finals on Sunday!

The U14A Girls were in fine form as they beat Surbiton HC 4-1. Celia opened the scoring, finishing off a fine team move. Isla and Evie S both also scored in the first half to make it 3-1 at the break. The second half was a closer contest, however an excellent goal from Boadicea sealed the victory for Knole Park and puts them into the National Quarter Finals.

The U14B Girls were made to work for their victory against a good Reigate Priory side. In fact, it was Reigate who led 1-0 at the break, but a superb second half from the girls saw them cruise 3-1 into the next round after goals from Phoebe B, Emily B, and Daisy.

The U16A Girls played Wimbledon HC. In a match that boasted 11 England players between the two sides, it was always going to be a tough match. Anna opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a sublime carry and finish past Wimbledon’s England goalkeeper. Knole Park would be made to wait for the second goal; however, it was worth the wait after the incredible skills of Lottie unlocked the Wimbledon defence to make it 2-0. A late goal from Wimbledon made the final few moments nervy, but the girls saw the game out and progress to the National Quarter Finals.

The U16B Girls also played Reigate Priory. The girls got off to a flying start and were 3-1 up at the break. Goals from Ella, Elsa, and Amy WD gave the girls a commanding lead. In the second half Reigate came back into it to pull level at 3-3, however a superb strike from Talya gave Knole Park the win in the last minute!

HC Knole Park’s U14A Boys were also in action as they travelled to west London to face Wimbledon. In a dominant display the boys were excellent throughout. A hat-trick from goal machine Isaac, as well as goals from Noah, Moritz and a superb penalty corner routine finished off by William G gave the boys a resounding 6-3 win and a place in the next round.

The U18A Girls are also into the National Quarter Finals after wins in the previous two rounds.

Finally, Knole Park’s U10 Girls travelled to Canterbury for some festival matches. Nine goals from Flo and six from team mate Elizabeth meant the girls were undefeated throughout the festival and played some fantastic hockey too!

HC Knole Park’s Men’s 1st team put four unanswered goals past Sevenoaks HC

HC Knole Park’s men’s 1st team beat Sevenoaks HC 4-0 on Saturday in a comprehensive performance. Sevenoaks were resolute in defence however they were unable to keep the young talented juniors from Knole Park at bay. The boys were able to carve through the Sevenoaks defence and created a number of great opportunities and penalty corners; but for the Sevenoaks goalkeeper it might have been a few more. However, it was from these penalty corners that Knole Park won the match as Duncan slotted all four goals to give Knole Park the win and move them up to fourth overall.

In the women’s section, Tunbridge Wells and Gore Court conceded the matches against Knole Park’s women’s 1st and 2nd teams respectively. The walkovers move Knole Park’s women’s 1st team up to top of the Invicta Division 2 league and continues the 2nd team’s progress at the top of Invicta Division 6.
