HC Knole Park’s U14 Boys suffer loss at the hands of Surbiton Seals!

In an exciting match Knole Park’s U14 Boys suffered their second defeat of the season. In a competitive match, Surbiton played very well to start and after an even 15 minutes they capitalised on some poor decisions from the boys. Choosing to carry too often when passes were available was the boys downfall. Despite a great goal from Lars Hansen, assisted by Charlie Harrison, the boys were 4-1 down at half-time.

A significantly better second half was rewarded with a brilliant team goal in the opening 10 minutes. Great work from Charlie, played in Isaac Dale whose calmness in the D, meant Moritz Hippe only had to roll the ball into the empty goal. Sadly the initial positivity from half-time was short-lived and Surbiton pounced on a defensive error and their four goal cushion was restored. In a final flourish of 4 goals in almost as many minutes to end the match meant the boys lost 9-2. A disappointing end to what was actually a very competitive and exciting match.

An incredible win for HC Knole Park’s U14B Girls!

HC Knole Park’s U14B Girls played Canterbury U14A on Sunday. In an excellent team performance the young Knole Park side passed the ball well throughout, defended exceptionally and scored two very well taken first half goals. Firstly, Elsa Taylor fired in when 1v1 with the goalkeeper, before some quality and calmness from Celia Foster in the attacking D, put into Lettie Hughes who smashed home a backhand shot! An amazing performance and a great result!

History makers! HC Knole Park’s U16A Girls play first ever U16 Girls match!

HC Knole Park’s U16 Girls played Guildford on Sunday in the club’s first ever U16A match. In an incredible performance the girls ran out 10-0 winners with goals from Olivia Breed (3), Lottie Bingham (2), Josefina Hippe, Anna Faulstich, Amelie Allen, Phoebe Gough-Cooper & Annabel Cheveley.

Excited to get the season up and running, the girls were the final team to play their first match of the season. Throughout the match the girls played some fantastic hockey against a very good Guildford team and with seven different goal-scorers it was great to see so much quality in this team this season!

In a blistering opening ten minutes, Olivia opened the scoring from close range as Anna’s shot was parried and she deflected home the ball. Lottie then scored her first of the match from a penalty corner. Lottie then assisted Olivia to her second of the match, before Olivia completed an amazing first half hat-trick with an individual goal. Just before half-time Josefina slotted home a rebound to make it 5-0 at half-time.

The second half was even better than the first as the girls passed the ball around, using the full width and height of the pitch. Annabel opened the scoring, before Amelie scored after some good link up play between Lottie and Olivia. Anna then scored from a penalty corner to make it 8-0. Lottie and Phoebe finished off the scoring to make the final score 10-0 to Knole Park.

An excellent team performance and a joy to watch!

HC Knole Park’s U16B Girls played superbly, but lose in the last moment!

On Sunday afternoon HC Knole Park’s U16B Girls travelled to East Grinstead to play their second match of the season against EG’s U16A team. In a brilliant match, the game ebbed and flowed for the full 70 minutes. Chances came and went for both teams. Tabitha Wimble in the Knole Park goal and Katie Eedes in the heart of the Knole Park defence were excellent throughout.

Knole Park took the lead mid-way through the second half with Lauren Foster slotting past the on rushing goalkeeper. Unfortunately EG replied immediately to make it all square again. In searching for a match winner the Knole Park defence was left open and EG counter-attacked to score the decisive goal with the final touch of the ball. A brilliant match – many congratulations to all involved.
