Updated: Oct 29, 2020

HC Knole Park’s U14Bs star in amazing performance of the weekend!

On Sunday HC Knole Park’s U14B team took on Bromley and Beckenham’s U14A team. In a brilliant performance the young Knole Park side scored seven goals and only conceded one to win 7-1 and go top of their league.

Bromley and Beckenham had won their first match already so we knew this would be a tough match, but the girls really stepped up. Celia Foster was outstanding as she scored four goals, including two exceptional backhand strikes. Ines Gascoyne-Day, Elsa Taylor and Phoebe Bright scored the others in a great team performance.

HC Knole Park’s U18 Girls win on the road!

In a friendly with Canterbury, HC Knole Park’s U18s made the most of their opportunity to play together again with a 6-1 win. A hat-trick from the brilliant Olivia Breed and singles from Elloise Paler, Annabel Cheveley and Phoebe Gough-Cooper gave the Knole Park team the win in an ever increasingly positive performance.

In an even first ten minutes both sides had chances and the Canterbury goalkeeper made a number of excellent sliding saves. The creativity of Olivia Breed however took the goalkeeper by surprise. Another superb run by Elloise Paler meant Olivia found herself with her back to goal. Without an option available to her, she shot the ball between her feet, taking everyone by surprise and giving Knole Park the lead. Sadly some confusion in defence meant Canterbury scored with the next play. Unpreturbed, Elloise made another great run, linking up with the superb Anna Faulstich and Lottie Bingham and they won a penalty corner. Elloise scored with a nice finish at the near post. Josefina Hippe was the next to be involved in the action as her silky skills set up Olivia who rounded the on rushing GK to score. 3-1 at half-time.

The second half was a much improved performance. More defensive turnovers, more passing, more opportunities and an all round better performance. Olivia Breed was at the centre of everything for Knole Park. A great run from Grace Reeve put Olivia in who again rounded the on rushing GK and Phoebe Gough-Cooper finished on the line. A sublime run from Lottie Bingham through the defender’s left foot was the difference for the fifth goal as she rounded the GK and passed to Olivia for her hat-trick. Sasha Kelbrick and Grace Reeve then linked up wonderfully to win another penalty corner. A great strike from Annabel Cheveley meant the final score was 6-1.

Knole Park U18s take on Spencer in the EH Cup first round on the 1stNovember.
