HC Knole Park’s Women’s 1st team enjoyed double success on Saturday as they played Southgate 2s and Maidstone 2s.
Against Southgate the match started very closely with both sides creating a number of half chances. In the second quarter Lottie scored twice. First through a brilliant penalty corner strike and secondly through a superb individual effort. 2-0. In the third quarter an excellent counter attack saw Lottie burst through from midfield. Her accurate pass to debutant Emily was then rolled to Katie on the back post to score her first 1st team goal! In the final quarter a turnover in defence saw Southgate pull one goal back. 3-1 to Knole Park.
In match two against Maidstone it was once again Lottie who opened the scoring. Her backhand strike flew into the netting to make it 1-0. Phoebe GC scored KP’s second with an excellent solo effort before Lottie scored her second to make it 3-0 at half-time. The second half was very good once again as a brace from Mackenzie made it 5-0. Assists coming from Camille and Lottie. Before Phoebe scored a brilliant penalty corner. The match finished with Maidstone scoring with the final play of the match and it finished 6-1.
A brilliant day for the Women’s 1st team. Lots of opportunities for players to play and two excellent opposition.
