In the girls section at HC Knole Park, five U13 girls were selected to represent South Saxons at the UK Lions Regional Tournament in Nottingham over the 9th – 11th July. Betsy, Boadicea, Celia, Evie & Ines were split into two even teams full of the best year 8 girls in the South to play in this UK-wide competition.
Both teams reached the semi-finals but were beaten by very strong West of England (Gold) and Ulster (Silver) teams. In the Bronze medal match the girls played out a very exciting game which finished 1-0.
All five girls played exceptionally well throughout the weekend and were subsequently selected to play for the UK Lions U14 Girls next season. Boadicea was also named as the Player of the Tournament.
In the boys section, six HC Knole Park boys participated in a 4 day U14 hockey tournament at Repton School. Harry, Isaac, Indy, Moritz, Benedict and William played exceptionally well against teams from around England. The high level hockey tournament culminated in the two teams facing each other in the Finals meaning all the boys came home with either a Gold or Silver medal. All of the boys had a brilliant time! Well done from everyone at Knole Park!
