Funding by the National Lottery

HC Knole Park has been awarded funds by National Lottery Community Fund. This is a one off fund to mark the 25th anniversary of The National Lottery.

The #CelebrateNationalLottery25 funding is designed to support activity that will bring people and communities together across the UK. HC Knole Park received the maximum award of a £1,000 for the efforts to bring together generations and reach across the community. We pride ourselves on the fact that a high percentage of the club’s membership are new or returners to the game.

The funds are already being spent on essential equipment and safety kit for our junior and adult players. This is much needed with the membership of the club having grown to 155, an increase of over 10% since Christmas.

Successes at national championships such as the Copper Box Indoor Tournament at the Olympic Park, progressions through to junior regional finals and top table positions for both HC Knole Park Men’s and Women’s teams have all contributed to the demand for the coaching excellence offered by the club. The ethos and culture of the Club, which has its own resident DJ, is also proving a big draw.

Willemijn Faulstich-Halsema the Chair of the Club comments “The National Lottery award comes at a good time for HC Knole Park. We have a busy end to the 2019/20 season and are already working on exciting plans for the 2020/21 season. These funds combined with the support of our wonderful sponsors, ABEC, SpringBank Clinic, Loft and Burlanes will be used for the direct benefit of our members.”

HC Knole Park was established at the start of the current season. There has been a growing trend for sports clubs to amalgamate over recent years and the creation of a new club with such an exciting new offer was warmly welcomed by England Hockey, who has provided encouragement and support along the way.
